I am focused on assisting clients in identifying traumatic triggers and events which have greatly impaired their ability to function on a daily basis. I strongly believe in empowering, educating, challenging, and supporting clients in their recovery and healing.  I specialize in trauma-focused therapy regarding physical and sexual abuse, traumatic events and losses. My goal is to bring a greater awareness of your needs, as well as compassion for yourself as you are working, growing, changing and transcending the issues that are causing stress or dysfunction.

Individual Therapy

Individual therapy can help one deal with many personal topics in life such as anger, depression, anxiety, substance abuse, marriage and relationship challenges, parenting problems, school difficulties, career changes, etc.  It could be time to seek therapy if an issue is causing distress or interfering with your daily life. Distress can mean negative thoughts, feelings, behaviors, or even a bodily sensation such as pain or fatigue.  As a trained therapist I can help you make lifestyle changes and inspire growth. Together I can help you identify underlying causes of symptoms and provide strategies for changing unwanted thoughts and behaviors. My goal is to equip clients with the skills to manage symptoms, reduce stress, and improve their quality of life.

Families and Parenting

Families can benefit from therapy when they experience any stressful event that may strain family relationships, such as financial hardship, divorce or the death of a loved one. In therapy sessions, we’ll work to solve current problems and improve positive thinking and behavior. I will help you “re-frame” your reactions and provide you with valuable tools to cope with life’s obstacles. Early on, we will work together to set goals for your therapy sessions. Family therapy is designed to help families improve communication, problem-solving, and coping skills, and enhance their sense of connection to one another.
